Leyden Power’s Navy Cube systems anchored WeHo Pride’s main stages.

Major live events have a power problem. For decades, festivals and concerts have leaned on diesel generators: loud, fuel-hungry, and increasingly out of step with the sustainability goals of the cities that host them. This June, West Hollywood showed there is a better way.

In partnership with US-based Overdrive Energy Solutions, Leyden Power helped power all of West Hollywood Pride 2026, one of the largest Pride celebrations in the United States, almost entirely on battery storage. Across a packed three-day weekend, the event ran 99% diesel-free.

Battery storage can power an entire festival district, cleanly and reliably.

The deployment covered the full footprint of the celebration: a free street fair along Santa Monica Boulevard and the ticketed OUTLOUD Music Festival at West Hollywood Park, together spanning four stages and more than 120 vendor and sponsor activations. Leyden Power’s Navy Cube battery systems anchored the main stages, delivering uninterrupted power through full headline sets, while Overdrive’s Pro Series systems handled the wider site. In total, 28 systems kept the entire event running for more than 53 hours without missing a beat.

Four stages, 120+ activations, 99% diesel-free.
Cleaner, quieter, and more cost-effective than diesel.

The results were measurable. Over the event, the systems delivered more than 5 MWh of clean energy, saved over 1,000 gallons of diesel, and avoided nearly 11 metric tons of CO₂ emissions, all while costing less than a comparable diesel setup. Because the batteries run near-silent and produce zero on-site exhaust, they could be placed directly within the crowd, improving air quality and eliminating the cable ramps and trip hazards of a traditional generator layout.

Overdrive’s Pro Series systems powered the wider festival footprint.

The approach is hybrid by design. By drawing on solar and grid charging and calling on a generator only for a quick, efficient top-off, the systems delivered commercial-grade, festival-scale power with a fraction of the footprint, every watt monitored live from load-in to the final encore.

Clean power isn’t a compromise. It’s an upgrade.

West Hollywood Pride is a model for what clean live-event power can look like at full scale, and a blueprint Leyden Power and Overdrive intend to bring to events of every size, from Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific to stages across the United States. A great show and a clean one are no longer a trade-off.
