Navy CUBE Deployment at Tuen Mun, Nim Wan Powering Gantry Cranes and Vessel Charging Stations
Deployment Date: June 2025 Project Location: Tuen Mun, Hong Kong
Leyden Power has partnered with China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd and deployed our NAVY series Battery Energy Storage Systems (#BESS) at Nim Wan! With the NAVY 400, we empower waste transfer vessels from both the east and west of Hong Kong Island, ensuring enough energy for smooth trips across the water. The site is managed by the EPD, with China Harbor serving as the operating company.
In a significant step towards greener industrial operations, Leyden Power deployed its battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the strategic hub of Tuen Mun Nim Wan. This project supports critical applications including powering gantry cranes and the establishment of charging stations for vessels, demonstrating the versatility and efficiency of clean energy solutions in heavy-duty maritime and logistics operations.
By replacing traditional diesel generators, Leyden Power’s system efficiently provides stable, zero-emission power to gantry cranes—crucial for container handling and port logistics—meet the demanding energy needs of port machinery, enhancing operational reliability while reducing noise and air pollution. Additionally, the deployment includes supporting electric charging infrastructure for vessels, promoting the electrification of marine transport and contributing to Hong Kong’s sustainability targets.
Leyden Power Navy CUBE BESS
The system supports onshore power for marine vessels in Hong Kong, delivering scalable battery energy storage solutions that meet the power demands of port machinery and vessel charging simultaneously. This significantly cuts emissions from berthing vessels and contributes to improving local air quality in the port area.
Working on critical infrastructure projects like this demonstrates how BESS technology delivers reliable, zero-emission power where it matters most. Join us as wetransform existing operations that keep our cities runningefficiently. ⚡
Leyden Power’s deployment at Tuen Mun Nim Wan exemplifies how integrated battery energy storage systems can transform traditional industries by providing clean, efficient, and reliable energy—driving Hong Kong closer to a sustainable future.
