Powering outdoor events
Leyden Power deployed reliable, zero-emission Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including NAVY Cube units, to handle high-demand power for stages, lighting, video systems and general site power at both large-scale events.
To showcase the capabilities of the Leyden Navy Series BESS in live event environments, Leyden Power partnered with PowerTrip Rentals to deliver a hybridized, low-carbon power solution for 3 large outdoor shows at Petco Park, San Diego. The Navy CUBE 250kW BESS just fully completed 3 shows across 2 different music genres on 4 stages, all powered by data-driven optimization to produce a beautiful green energy, hybridized event—while also handling the multi-day load-in seamlessly.

From Stage to Storage: BESS at Wild Horses 2025
The 2025 Wild Horses Festival in San Diego, held at Petco Park on Saturday, December 27, 2025, featured a night of modern folk, country, and Americana music headlined by the Grammy-winning British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons, delivering a deeply communal and high-energy atmosphere with a strong focus on live musical artistry and audience connection.

Powering the Countdown: BESS Fuels FNGRS CRSSD’s Epic Proper NYE at Petco Park
Proper NYE 2025 was a massive two-day dance music festival at Petco Park (Dec 31, 2025 – Jan 1, 2026) by FNGRS CRSSD, where BESS supports high-energy electronic/dance music, largescale production, and city-centered experiences—culminating in a major countdown moment at midnight, powering for the year-end country music event drawing thousands to the Park.

During multiple days of show load-in, the mobile BESS unit carried the entire site load—covering PA tuning, lighting setup, video systems and general site power—while the diesel generator remained on standby, only slowly topping up the batteries via a small house power service. This meant that all the usual “hurry up and wait” time, rig tuning and set changes shifted from consuming fuel to quietly charging the BESS, turning idle hours into energy gains instead of fuel losses.

By day 3 of load-in, the team had not burned a single drop of fuel, achieving a 100% green load-in with no hiccups or interruptions. Even after fully tuning the PA and running a listening session for the audio crew, the system continued to operate without diesel consumption, proving that large-scale event sound and lighting can be powered cleanly and reliably. At the end of a full day loading in lighting, audio and video, the state of charge of the BESS remained at around 50%, demonstrating significant headroom and stability for dynamic event loads ranging from roughly 12.5 kW at low periods up to peaks above 120 kW. Over the full deployment, the generator was only required to run three short topping-up periods of no more than 1.5 hours each, delivering substantial savings in fuel, runtime, noise and emissions for the client and production team.

This flagship project underlines how Leyden’s Navy Series BESS, in hybrid configuration with conventional generators, enables event operators to:
• Cut fuel consumption and operating cost dramatically
• Reduce noise and emissions on site
• Maintain reliable power for complex show setups with fluctuating loads
As Leyden Power continues to collaborate with forward-thinking partners in North America and beyond, this deployment stands as a signature reference for event, film and temporary-power customers seeking to “get on a HybridTrip” and move towards greener, smarter power solutions
in 2026 and the years ahead.
